Humanoid wheeled robots draw $152M for factory rollout

London-based Humanoid has raised $152 million in a Series A financing at a reported $1.35 billion post-money valuation, bringing its total funding to $270 million. Prime Movers Lab led the round, while Bosch and Schaeffler joined as investors. Schaeffler is also an anchor customer and actuator supplier, and Robert Bosch Robotics GmbH is expected to manufacture Humanoid’s HMND 01 platform with capacity allocated for as many as 100,000 units over five years.

The company’s HMND 01 Alpha is a wheeled, dual-arm mobile manipulator rather than a bipedal robot. It stands 220 centimeters tall, can travel at up to 7.2 km/h, carries up to 15 kilograms in total, and has nearly 29 degrees of freedom. It can be fitted with either a 12-degree-of-freedom five-finger hand or a parallel gripper. NVIDIA Jetson Thor provides its onboard compute, listed at roughly 800 TOPS of AI inference capacity. Humanoid is targeting factory tasks including box handling, tote logistics and container transfer, arguing that wheels offer a more practical route to stability and certification in structured plants.

Schaeffler’s deployment agreement targets a four-digit number of robots across its global facilities by 2032. Initial deployments are scheduled from December 2026 through June 2027 at Herzogenaurach and Schweinfurt in Germany. The former will handle boxes in live production, while the latter will run a six-month validation focused on stable, continuous operation near production scale.

Humanoid’s KinetIQ software combines facility-level task assignment, robot subtask planning, vision-language-action control, and whole-body control. Bosch has tested box transfers at its Bühl intralogistics facility, and Siemens validated tote logistics at an Erlangen electronics factory. Beta robots are expected to begin sustained factory operations in the fourth quarter of 2026. Humanoid’s preorder and proof-of-concept figures are company claims that have not been independently verified.
